As such, when she decided to put pen to paper she had all manner of plot lines and characters ready to go. Over the years that she had been thinking of becoming an author a lot of things had been going on in her head. This is what she would do for the best part of more than a decade before she thought she wanted to do something different. Soon after that, she got a job working as a sub-editor for “The Daily Mail” and soon enough, she was working as a freelance film reviewer. It was a great experience but it was at this time that she learned that film directing was hard work and that her colleagues were insane people. Upon graduating, she started working as a film director in Houston. Rice would then head to Warwick University where she undertook studies in Comparative American studies. Nonetheless, things did not turn out as she expected as she was overwhelmed with a fit of giggles during a school play, which led to her blacklisting by the drama department. In her late teenage years, Heidi Rice made the decision to pursue a career as an actress. As such, it took a very long time before she embraced the idea of herself as a fiction author. What is surprising though is that Rice never knew if romance fiction writing was going to be her career.

She would ultimately get over these silly teenage dreams and would go on to become a published author. Moreover, he was also married to Joanne Woodward and would likely never be available. This was quite weird since the man was about 50 while she was just 13 at the time. Rice grew up in London as a tomboy and in her teenage years, all she wanted was to get married to Paul Newman.
